About me

Hello! I'm Leah and I am a Welsh illustrator that enjoys creating illustrations and characters that are whimsical and strange.

One of my main hobbies is reading, so I have a huge interest in book illustration, book cover designs, creating character designs and narrative-based images. The characters are a crucial part to what makes a good book, in my opinion, and when I read I always like to imagine what they look like in my head -  and sometimes on paper.

I primarily create my work traditionally as I'm fond of the textures, mark-making  and the hand-made quality achieved when doing so. Whilst I am partial towards inks and pencils, I have in recent times been enjoying experimenting with colour pencils, and have enjoyed using 'unusual' and 'unnatural' colours to make my illustrations.
